No-Metal Fillings
We do not use fillings that have any metal in them. For many years, amalgam fillings of silver-mercury were the standard filling material. They have shortcomings, as metal does not adhere to tooth structure as tightly as needed. Eventually decay sets in when the filling material does not bond tightly. The other problem is the appearance of dark metal in light teeth. Patients don't like it, as it detracts from having a pleasing smile. Our composite resin fillings are made to match the shade of the tooth and bond very tightly, greatly reducing the chances of decay setting in.Winterset Dental Care
